Before You Call....

Tips to help you fix your problem!

  1. Check your thermostat setting. Make sure that it is set to the "on" position. If it isn't, set it to the "on" position. If your digital thermostat screen is still blank, you may have lost power. This could be a problem of either high or low voltage.  Check your batteries.
  2. Check all your AC unit breakers and disconnect boxes. Make sure they are all set in the "on" position. If they are not, switch them to the "on" position. This should fix your high voltage problem. When the breakers and disconnect boxes are returned to the "on" position, the thermostat screen should light up and the unit should begin working again.
  3.  Check your drain line to make sure AC unit is draining. If the drain is clogged, the float switch will disconnect the low voltage, shutting off the unit and the thermostat will be blank. You can try clearing the drain line where it terminates outside with a Wet Shop Vac.
  4. Check your Dehumidistat setting. If you plan on being at home, it should be set in the "on" position.
  5. Check to make sure your AC unit filter is clean. If you don't know where your air filters are, or you can't access them, check your vents for airflow. No air flow usually means air filters are dirty and needs to be changed. Clean filters help contribute to home energy savings.
